MIA Layover

Uneventful flight from San Francisco to Miami. We walked from the D terminal to E terminal to find our gate for later tonight, then decided food was better in the D terminal. We split up, with Domi going off solo, Fran and Lisa finding some food, and Jenn, Susan and I trekking back to a chinese place in the D terminal. Since we still had many hours to kill before our 8:15 flight, the three of us decided to go to the H terminal and relax in the Delta Crown room. Softer chairs, free soft drinks, free Biscoff cookies and free newspapers are hard to pass up. We learned a few things in the process. First, an American boarding pass doesn't get you through security on a Delta terminal - needed to get a gate pass from the ticket counter. Burned 10 or 15 minutes in the process, but it's not like we were short time. Susan then learned the difference between red and gray security bins - she grabbed a free red one for her shoes, went through security, gave the gate pass to the TSA agent, then had another agent asking for her boarding pass, which was the gate pass she just gave away. He then asked her why her shoes were in the red bin and she said because it was there. He asked what a red bin means, and she said "Hot" to which he chuckled, gave her shoes back, and let her go. I bet she doesn't pick up a red bin again.
