Shopping

Each work day Bob has been sending a couple of team members into the downtown area with one of our helpers to experience the shopping district. Today, after morning break, Hugo (pronounced ooo-go not you-go), guided Fran and I between the produce stands and killer buses.

No trip is complete without visiting Ignacio's little restaurant. He sells empanadas and other local food. Tomorrow he will be catering lunch for us at the church.

Hugo is showing us some motorcycles. Small new bikes are between $1000 and $1500. With monthly salaries around $100, that's why you frequently see families of two, three or more on a bike.

We also walked over to the Catholic church in San Lorenzo. It's a bit less modest facility than the Alliance church.

I did do some work before the shopping excursion, painting the upper half of the kitchen. Alberto will do the lower half with a washable oil paint.

The formerly blue room that Forest absolutely hated the color because it seemed like a nursery is now a more neutral beige. Tomorrow, we'll clean things up, and the ladies will help the women's ministry load the new cabinet Lisa and I varnished with their dishes.

After a third coat on the blue room, the ladies moved on to the ceiling of the men's room. They seemed to be having a bit too much fun in there.

A shopping trip Franny? I KNOW you can show them how an American does that! I didn't realize how qualified you were for this kind of work. Oh, yeah, my bathroom needs to be painted since you're on a roll now, a tp roll that is!! Laughing at my own joke! Love, Julia
